The Importance of a Wedding Itinerary
For the majority of the weddings that we do the bride and groom have taken the time to do a wedding itinerary with as much detail as possible. When there is an itinerary the day runs pretty smooth - granted of course that there’s always unexpected events that happen.
When there is NO itinerary nine times out of ten things do not go as planned and the bride and groom experience unnecessary stress.
It is not enough to let everyone know what time the ceremony and reception start. You have to write it all down. Plan your day with as much detail as possible. Use your itinerary as a checklist as well. Start your itinerary from the moment you wake up to the end of the night. I guarantee it will make your wedding day run smooth and even more special. You will not be worrying about every little thing. So many times I see the couple stressing over little details when they should be enjoying their special day.
Here are some sample itineraries. Some are more detailed than others. That’s ok. Whatever works for you. The important thing is to have it in writing.
We have the firm belief that if you have a goal it is not a goal until you put it in writing. Not until you write it down will it materialize for you. So make it your goal to have a wonderful wedding that runs smooth. Make it your goal to enjoy your wedding day no matter what happens.

What a great point to make! I know that a thorough itinerary can make all the difference in helping vendors to be where they are supposed to be at the right time as well. The brides that we shoot (I am also a wedding videorgapher) who have an itinerary seem much more relaxed, and don’t seem to worry about the details. And I can relax knowing that I don’t have to try to remember the times for every event, or the names of everyone, because it’s all written down for me in advance!
